Donna L. Wagner has been named dean of the New Mexico State University College of Health and Social Services. She served as the interim dean for the college since Aug. 1, 2014. Wagner’s tenure at NMSU began in January 2011. As associate dean of academic affairs for the college, she taught courses, conducted research and assisted with administrative responsibilities. Wagner is one of the country’s leading experts in the field of eldercare. Wagner came to NMSU from Towson University in Towson, Maryland, where she was a tenured professor of gerontology and health science. She was the founding director of the university’s gerontology program. She received her Ph.D. in urban affairs from Portland State University.
