NMSU Giving Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

Fund raising nmsu

Giving Tuesday is November 27, 2018, and is a global day of giving that happens on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving every year. This will be our fourth Giving Tuesday and the College of Health & Social Services is calling upon alumni and friends to help us make a difference for our nursing, public health, and social work students.

This day of giving benefits all of our students, creating new scholarship opportunities that help students from all backgrounds. We’re a land-grant university, so we have many students who are first-generation college students or who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford college. Scholarships are an important way to help them leave college debt-free.

There are many dollar-for-dollar matching opportunities available this year, though not every gift will be eligible for a match, and matching funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis:

  • ONLINE GIFTS: Get matched up to $500 per household when you make your gift online at giving.nmsu.edu between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on #GivingTuesday. A total of $100,000 is available for matching. Be sure to indicate that your gift is for the College of Engineering.
  • FIRST-TIME DONORS: Make your first gift and get matched up to $500 per household [giving.nmsu.edu]online or in person at #GivingTuesday Headquarters in Corbett Center Student Union’s Aggie Lounge, November 27. A sum of $25,000 is available for matching.
  • IN-PERSON GIFTS: Get matched up to $500 per household when you make your gift in person at the #GivingTuesday Headquarters in Corbett Center Aggie Lounge on the Las Cruces campus between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on #GivingTuesday. A total of $95,000 is available for matching to any charitable fund across the NMSU system.

We hope you’ll join us in giving back to any scholarship, department, professorship, emergency assistance, or other fund of your choice – every gift, no matter the size, really does make a difference in someone else’s life. Thank you for all that you do for NMSU and the College of Health & Social Services!
